Hard Boiling Eggs

Best way to hard boil an egg you ask? 

I know this may seem like common sense but it isn’t. I have tried a variety of ways to hard boil an egg, but then why…WHY do I always find myself taking large chunks out of the whites because the shells didn’t come off easy? Not to mention the change in nutrition benefit! Egg whites have the least amount of calories in the egg with a high protein content! If you take a large chunk of that away you’re left with the fattier caloric part. 

Here is THE BEST way to hard boil an egg

Ingredients:

6-8 eggs

Equipment: 

large saucepan or pot

Directions:

Place eggs carefully at the bottom of a pot or large saucepan and fill with cold water until reaches a bit over the top of the eggs. Place on the stove and turn up the heat until it boils. Once it boils let it boil for one whole minute. Then turn off the burner and cover the pot. Wait exactly 20 minutes (set your timer). Take a tupperware with a lid that will fit all the eggs and throw in a few ice cubes and cold water. Drain eggs in the sink and then place into the tupperware and let it sit there for a few minutes. Then shake it up…..i mean really shake it. This gets the eggs to start to crack their shell in the tupperware. Simply peel the eggs off while running it under cold water. The shell should literally come right off leaving you perfectly beautiful peeled eggs!img_4631
